This young athlete maintains substantial social media presence
The young golfer will have plenty of prominent backers when she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, received a special exemption to play at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, possesses multiple courses worldwide and frequently matches against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we play tight competitions," she revealed.
Kai explained that her grandfather, unable to come, counseled her: "Just stay calm."
"He basically told me to compete and enjoy myself," she added.
"To me, he's just a regular grandfather. He can't make it this weekend. He's busy with world affairs, so he's quite busy."
While still amateur, Kai has competed in only three events this year and has the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
Yet she can seek guidance from golf legend, who is dating Vanessa.
"He represents the greatest golfer worldwide," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a superior individual. He advised me to go out there, have fun, adapting to the flow."
She'll challenge some of top competitors in professional golf at the competition, such as second-ranked the champion, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Officials commented that Kai's presence brings golf to different demographics, especially with younger fans.
The social media influencer has millions of followers and just introduced an exclusive apparel and wellness company.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
